About Me

After 20 years in advertising in both Boston and Kansas City, our family moved to Los Angeles. There I was able to pursue my passion. I went back to school for a degree in interior design.

In five years, I built a very successful business in Los Angeles, only to be transferred back to the Kansas City area. I had to start all over. However, the time spent in Los Angeles was invaluable as I was exposed to world-class resources and boutique showrooms.

Over the years I have built two homes and remodeled four, so I understand the scope of those projects on a personal level. I understand the frustrations and weight of  the myriad important decisions.

My mantra is: “No job is too small.” My work ranges from color consultations to single room makeovers to the design coordination of entire homes. While primarily a residential designer, I have worked on offices and exterior spaces, including conference rooms and patios.

I believe in running my firm as a partnership and keeping clients in the loop at all times concerning budget, scheduling of subcontractors, and delivery dates. My billing process accounts for every hour billed and why, down to each yard or trim.

To stimulate fresh ideas for clients, I constantly comb obscure boutiques, showrooms, antique stores and decorating magazines. I believe the most interesting rooms combine old and new, great textures and accessories.

I live in Leawood Kansas with my husband, teenage daughter, fashionable dog and freeloading cat. My older daughter has graduated from Columbia and works in New York City. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, reading, walking, movies and live theatre.
